What is GOSF?
The Great Online Shopping Festival (GOSF) was created by Google India on 12 December 2012 in collaboration with a number of Indian online shopping portals. The concept of the GOSF was that the online shopping sites would give heavy discounts for one day, in order to promote their sales.
This year GOSF 2014 begins on 10th December and will be on for three days until 12th December and the best news is around 450 online shopping destinations are participating in GOSF this year. This is like THE shopping festival to splurge on as there has got to be something for every individual with so many brands from various categories participating. I have been patiently waiting for this for a month now, controlling myself from shopping before the sale and now that the GOSF is finally here (i.e. tomorrow ) I just cant wait to click, click and order away! But I do hope there are some great deals and I actually get to buy them unlike the big billion day.

Tips to shop Smart at GOSF:
- Make your lists today, add your must want stuff to wish lists , bookmark in advance . This will help you shop early and fast before everything goes out of stock. Also this helps you shop what you Need first.
-Keep Your bank details ready and use COD service where ever possible . You don’t want to see an amazing deal go out of your hand just because you dint pay on time
-Be updated with coupons and deals available from various coupon sites to save over and above existing discounts.
-Remember to shop via cashback sites to save a bit more. (eg : paidkart, cashkaro, payumoney)
-Sales are the best season to shop for gifts for upcoming birthdays and anniversaries. Buy in advance
- Do your research, especially if you are buying big stuff. Install plugins like Buy Hatke to compare prices across all shopping portals and buy cheap
- Install mobile apps of sites you want to shop from. Many sites are offering higher discounts on their apps
- Be updated with the return policies during GOSF. Buy only fif you are sure the size will fit you as many sites don’t offer returns during sales.
