I am in a matte lip colour phase at present and when I realized I did not have a long lasting matte everyday shade I decided to give Sugar Cosmetics a try. I have heard a lot about the brand Sugar from beauty bloggers and their lip crayons are raved about. I picked up two everday wear shades Holly go lightly and Rose dawson, today Iam revieiwng the shade 05 Rose Dawson in detail.

Ingredients
The shade Rose Dawson is brightening rosy pink which will suit medium and fair complexions nicely. This is a nice everyday lip colour and the pigmentation is also good. I swipe twice for full coverage on my pigmented lips and it comes across as a rosy pink MLBB shade on me. The staying power is the reason I picked up these lip crayons from Sugar and they dont disappoint lasting for about 5-6 hours on my lips. I find this lip crayon turning a bit patchy an hour or two after application which is a turn off but the shade is just too gorgeous for me to stay away from this lip crayon. I have used a nude shade holly go lightly from this range and that crayon has beautiful texture and finish whih doesnt turn patchy. I think this whole powdery patchiness is only in rose dawson and not other shades.
I hate that I have to sharpen these, I have already sharpened this lip crayon thrice and at this rate i may even finish it up and make a record of repurchasing a lip crayom. The only lip colour I have repurchase din my life is NYC Amsterdam lip cream.

Only if you dont care about texture . This shade rose dawson is a gorgeous rosy nude which will suit most Indian complextions but can turn patchy soon after application
Final Verdict:
I love the shade but the texture was a turn off especially because I paid 800 bucks and there is no discount on sugar cosmetics ever! I would not recommend this shade but other shades in this collection have amazing texture.Sugar has launched 5 new colours in this range but I hope they improve texture of this shade and get rid of the annoying sharpening bit.

Lip Crayons are something I totally adore but this sugar lip crayon comes in a sharpenable pencil form. My heart cries everytime I sharpen this gorgeous lip crayon and this probably the only true con of this lip colour from sugar. A chubby black pencil with a tight cap is otherwise pretty classy and you get a sharpener free too. I really hope Sugar changes the packaging to twist up crayon soon.
My experience with SUGAR Cosmetics Matte As Hell Crayon Lipstick in Rose Dawson:
Sugar lip crayon has a creamy smooth texture which glides easily on lips without tugging. I like how the texture is soft and feather light on lips but not too creamy to melt away. The finish is matte with a slight sheen and it settles to powdery matte after sometime.
