Maybelline New York Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation #310 Sun Beige

I was on a foundation hunt that was easy on the pocket and great for small special occasions. I have a lot of foundations and every single time I end up with a wrong shade. So was the case with Maybelline New York Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation! With a 6 shade selection I chose a slightly darker undertone foundation and the end result was my skin looked way more dark than it really was. I had read great reviews about this foundation and chose this over the L'Oreal Paris Mat Magique 12H Bright Mat Foundation. I have oily skin which is prone acne and I wanted a shine control matte foundation. After many youtuber's raved about this foundation I was really enticed to give it a try. Read on to know my thoughts on it.

Nice

My Experience with Maybelline New York Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation in Sun beige:

After Maybelline launched their Fit Me collection which included Fit Me Compact Powder, fit me Contour V Duo blush and Fit me Concealer , I was excited to try something from the very hyped Fit Me range by my favorite cosmetic brand, Maybelline ! I read a lot reviews and went for the shade Sun beige and bought it from Amazon.in. This is a light to medium coverage foundation and I found it quite normal but when compared to the other drugstore foundations available in India , it is quite remarkable. I was using Chambor foundation before and found this to be very messy when compared to it. I have real bad oily skin. The oils started to build up after a few hours of applying this foundation and as this foundation is a oxidizing foundation , it actually made me look way too dark.
if you are thinking of buying it then go for a slightly lighter shade then your as it oxidizes a lot. I think Natural Buff shade no 250 would have suited me a lot better than ‘Sun Beige’. I have mixed thoughts about this foundation. It does nothing for my pores and needs to be used over a primer. The packaging is a huge let down for me and even though the texture is amazing i couldn’t warm up to this foundation.

Final Verdict:

Overall Maybelline New York Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation in sun beige did not work wonders for my oily prone skin and its not that great when it comes to controlling shine and oil. It does cake up after 7 hours of application and you need to use a blending brush or a beauty blender to get an air brushed look. Everytime I tried blending it with my fingers I ended up in a hot mess. It just got way too cakey! I am not saying its not a great foundation, it is great but for people who are slightly oily and not Va-va Voom oily like me. If you are using this foundation on very oily skin I would suggest you to go over with a setting powder or a setting spray .
I could survive with the fact that it oxidized my skin, or even the fact that it let oil seep in through my T-zone after a mere 3 hours but the thing which was a very big letdown is the freaking packaging. Remember Lakme coming up with an invisible finish foundation with a glass bottle but they had a stick that was helpful but Maybelline fit me foundation’s lack of pump is the what I hate the most! I would have been okay wit a squeeze bottle too but with this I always end up removing a ton of the product and its impossible to remove a moderate amount of product in one go. Also the foundation gets all over the lid and the neck of the glass bottle, ugh!
Overall this foundation is an okay-okay foundation for my oily acne prone skin but it was not that lived up to the hype.

Pigmentation:

it gives light to medium coverage. You need to use a brush or a beauty sponge to seamlessly blend it into the skin. I use my Real technique miracle perfect sponge . It does hide imperfections but dark spots aren’t concealed and need another coat of foundation or concealer to cover it.

Would I buy this product again?

Considering how the foundation oxidized my face I am not sure i would buy this again. But it does work great as a foundation for everyday wear. But since I hardly use any foundation on a daily basis I would not buy this foundation and invest in a high coverage foundation that would be good for special occasions.
