L’Oreal Paris Collection Star Pinks Extraordinaire Lip Color Gong Li Swatch & Review
Remember the L’Oreal Paris Collection Star Reds launched last year ? They were a hit and I myself bought quite a few lipsticks from the red range but the same cannot be said for their newly launched pink range this year. L’Oreal Paris has recently launched their Colour Riche Collection Exclusive La Vie En Rose Signature Collection .Their Pink Perfection collection which consists of 7 Moist Mat Lipsticks and 5 Extraordinaire Mat Lip Colors endorsed by various celebrities plus 3 nail paints .
The problem with this range is that it is very expensive and not all of them can afford a gloss priced around 1k. Also pink is a tricky color and might not suit darker skin tones whereas red is a universal color that suits almost everyone.
Price and Quantity: INR 950 for 6.5 ml
Variant being Reviewed: Gong Li Lilac
Other Variants: Fan Binbing Peony, Katrina Orchid, Sonam Azalea, Julianne Magnolia
Packaging: The packaging is one thing that has been improved when compared to the previous red range. These mat glosses come in a classy black matte bottle with a window
Texture: creamy texture gives a semi matte finish
Pigmentation: does not hide pigmentation of lips.
Staying Power: Stays for 2-3 hours, as its a light shade I din’t expect for a high staying power either.
Shade/ Colour: Bubble gum pink, its a tricky lilac pink color , not suitable for all skin types
My experience:I wanted to try a gloss from Loreal’s Pink range and after reading a lot reviews decided to go ahead with Gongli’s Lilac,. As I have fair to medium skin tone, I thought any kind of ink would suit me but unfortunately this shade turned out to be a pale bubble gum pink and washed out my face :’(
In a Nutshell:Its good that LOreal launched glosses and nail paints too but this particular shade will look beautiful only on pink lips and lighter skin tones but not too flattering on pigmented lips and darker complexions. I expected the formula to be better , given the price it should have excelled in the longevity category but it fails in that category too! Can be picked up to pair with bold makeup and it does have a candy fragrance. I would say ditch this shade and try other shades from this range.
