Brahmani Reddy weds Rajeev Reddy in the most Expensive Indian Wedding of 2016

While majority of Indians sit back and debate demonitization and the resulting cash crunch, BJP MLA Janardhan Reddy goes about spending Rs.550 crore on his daughters wedding.




The wedding of Bellary mining baron Janardhan Reddy's daughter is the most expensive Indian wedding of 2016.  Reddy's daughter Brahmani  tied knot to Rajeev Reddy in a five day extravagant super fat Indian wedding in Bangalore at Bangalore Palace where Vijayanagar empire was recreated. The number of guests invited were over 50,000 guests and the lavish spread had 16 types of sweets alone.



The bride’s saree cost 40 lakh was bought from Tamil Nadu. and it comes with gold weaved into it. ! And that wasn’t the only outfit she wore... there were many more.  The jewellery Bramhani wore is another tale of mind boggling numbers. Her diamond-studded necklace costed Rs 25 crore and she also wore antique jewellery worth Rs 150 crore.


Brahmani Reddy wore a red half saree for her wedding and accessorized it with diamonds skipping gold completely. She wore a multi strand matha patti, layered neck pieces, kamarbandh , arm band , nose ring, bangles and earrings all studded with diamonds.


Rajiv Reddy's sister wore a turquose kanjeevaram saree which looked amazing paired with diamond jewels.


The Brides mom was spotted in a pink Neeta lulla Kanjeevaram saree which was paired with  pink blouse, diamond jewellery and a floral hair bun.

The saree and jewellery are not it all, the wedding invites had an LCD screen which played music videos of the family members inviting guests.

Reddy's village and Hampi Vitthala temple was also built where the pre-wedding functions were performed. The courts have prohibited Janardan Reddy from entering bellary where his family home is situated,so he also replicated the homes of bride and groom's family for his daughter to symbolically leave her bellary home and enter new hyderabad home. (And you thought
 Karan Johar and Sooraj barjatiya lived in alternate universe? )

The sangeet
For the Sangeet  Brahmani Reddy wore a heavily embellished  Neeta Lulla gold Lehenga with floral details. I love this look as it was accessorized nicely without going over board. Groom Rajiv Reddy wore a green kurta with black pants.



Meanwhile in totally unrelated news I managed to deposit all old currency note in my bank after standing queue at SBI bank for 3 hours! Such a relief , I also withdrew 10k worth cash and got my hands on the all new PINK 2k notes. Turns out they are as useless as old notes. No one has change... ! Hoping things normalize for us Mango people soon.
