Essence Blush Up Powder Blush in Heat Wave Review : Affordable Ombre Blush

Ever since I first used a trio blush by Loreal ( L'Oreal Paris Lucent Magique Blush Sunset Glow) I have a love for small blushes which have two to three shades or multitask when i am travelling. One such beautiful discovery of a ombre blush that wouldn’t break the bank and yet give you three different blush colors to play with would be the Ombre blush by Essence. They are a dupe for MAC Ombre blushes and are pretty amazing for the price I bought it for.

I first saw this blush when a youtuber used it in a beauty tutorial and she was the one who recommended it. I feel in love with the colors and the idea of owning a ombre blush excited me. I purchased the variant ‘Heat Wave’ from Nykaa and was very happy with the way the blush worked for me.

Packaging Of Essence Blush Up Powder blush in Heat Wave:

The blush comes in a clear heavy plastic box like compact with Essence Blush up written in Silver . It is a pretty sight to look at. The ombre colors give a magnificent look to the container. The plastic lid tends to scratch when travelled with it. The lid is tight and overall the packaging is sweet and sturdy . It would be a sight to eyes and gives  chic look to my makeup vanity. Teehee.

Pigmentation:

The blush is decently pigmented and can be used with a heavy hand for a full blushed effect or can be used with light hand for a flushed look. The orange is slightly more pigmented than the pink side.

Color Of Essence Blush Up Powder blush in Heat Wave:

The blush has three different beautiful colors. Starting from a pretty orange changing to a coral and ending with a pink. The middle part is a combination of orange and pink which is amazing and gives a ombre effect on the cheeks. these are purely matte in nature and hence it can be used for day out or even for a night out.
Price: INR 399

Staying Power:

It stays for about 3 hours after which it starts to fade and lose intensity. But when going heavy handed it stays for about 5 hours.

Texture:

They are powdery matte in nature and a little drying. It is not chalky but has a lot of fall out when you swipe the blusher brush over it. Its soft, smooth and satiny when applying and blends easily into the skin.

My Experience With Essence Blush Up Powder blush in Heat Wave :

I prefer going heavy handed with the blush as every time I use it lightly over my cheeks , it fades within no time. When I use a little more product it stays for decent amount of time. I love the way the ombre colors look on the compact. As I have a lot of pink blushes the most used shade from this ombre blush is the orangy coral one. As the three different colors are all matte in nature I use them as transition shades for my eye makeup sometimes and they turn out beautifully! Hence this is a very beautiful multitasking pallet for me that too at such a amazing price ! I love swirling my brush over all the three colors in a single swipe and using it as blush for a day look, it looks gorgeous !

Pros:

  • Affordable
  • Very pigmented
  • Multitasking blush compact due to 3 gorgeous matte ombre colors
  • Amazing colors in one pallet
  • Sturdy and travel friendly packaging
  • Very attractive to look at
  • Easily available on Nykaa and online stores
  • Great for beginners in makeup

Cons:

  • Due to fallout while swirling the brush, a lot of product is wasted.
  • The staying power is very less when used with a light hand
