Lakme Absolute Lip Tint Matte Raving Red Review

Today its time to introduce you to another chubby lip crayon, this time from the house of Lakme. I had fallen in love with this packaging of lip colours but had only glossy shades so, I decided to add a matte lip crayon to my collection. The Lakme Absolute Lip Tint Matte in Raving Red is a matte red which was launched during lakme fashion week 2015 .

Packaging: Super cute chubby crayon with a silver cap which does not require sharpening. The cap doesn't fit very tightly but this is quiet travel friendly as it hasn't opened up in my purse ever.

The Shade: Raving Red is a nice bright tomato kind of a red which will suit most Indian skin tones. this is somewhat similar to NYX lip cream in Amsterdam. A close dupe.

Texture: Having used lip crayons from Revlon, oriflame and LOreal the texture of Lakme absolute lit tint matte was quiet a disappointment. The lip crayon is kind of rubbery, doesn't glide smoothly and tugs a lot. This is matte so it is drying too and on my lips which are dry all year round they tend to wreak a havoc. You should definitely moisturize your lips, exfoliate them properly before applying this.

Pigmentation: Lakme Absolute Lip Tint Matte in Raving Red is decently pigmented and gives an opaque matte finish .
Staying power: These lip crayons easily last for around 4 hours on my lips but considering they are matte and so drying on my lips i expected them to last longer ( revlon ones last for like 7 hours). another thing i dont like with this crayon is that it transfers a wee bit. I hate lip colours which trasfer but thankfully this doesnt too much.

My experience: I am loving red lip colours a lot these days and when i got my hand on this Lip Tint Matte Raving Red I swatched it in a jiffy and loved how it looked on my lips. It is a nice vibrant red which instantly adds a pop of clour to your face but not too bold blood red kinds. It was matte so another plus and then stayed nicely for 3-4 hours after which there was just a tint left behind and my lips felt dry, very dry. I had to rush to apply my lip balm.

Recommendation: Frankly I am not a fan of these but if you like mattes and reds this is a nice lip crayon to have. The shade and packaging is pretty but it is very drying. Beauties with super dry lips, please stay far away.

Overall for 650 bucks I expected far better. the shade is a gorgeous red and that is the only reason i apply this on my lips. I wish this weren't so drying and glided a bit more easily on lips. Try Revlon matte balms which are priced at 800, a better option in my opinion.
