Top 10 Rosehip Oil Benefits for Skin and Hair || Best brands, Tips and Precautions

I have been experimenting a lot with natural and organic skin care off late and I am trying new face oils . It all started when I decided to concentrate on bidding bye to my dark circles with help from almond oil but I soon started using almond oil all over my face too . Almond oil is good but for my super dry skin I needed something more moisturizing, something I could use like an anti ageing cream cum night serum, then I stumbled upon the benefits of Rosehip seed oil on Nishu's blog and I was sold. Reading about how well this oil has worked on dry skin I too wanted to give it a try and did my own research of the beauty benefits of rosehip seed oil.

Rosehip oil also known as rosehip seed oil is extracted from seeds of specific variety of rose buds. Rich in vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids rosehip oil  is recommended by beauty professionals worldwide for its skin care and hair conditioning properties. This oil is proven to replenish dull dry skin and is effective with acne spots and stretch marks. That is not all, this soothing oil also is anti ageing with 80% + antioxidant content (Vitamin C and Retinoic Vitamin A)

Top 10 Rosehip Oil Benefits & Uses for skin and hair

#1 Nourishes, moisturizes and rejuvenates dry skin

My number one reason to use rosehip seed oil was to help hydrate and repair my dry flaky skin. This oil has abundance of essential fatty acids, omega 3, 6 and 9 which help rejuvenate, heal and sooth skin. Rosehip oil can be used by women of all skin types but it is a boon for beauties like me who have very dry and dull skin.
How to use Rosehip seed oil as a moisturizer:
If you have dry skin you can directly apply rosehip seed oil to your face. Since rosehip oil is dry oil and gets absorbed quickly into skin you can follow up with your regular night cream. You can also use this oil like a day moisturizer as foundations or BB creams doesnt slide off.
If you have oily skin you can still use rosehip oil directly on face but if you are not comfortable with using oils on face yet then try mixing a drop in your night cream for firm and nourished skin in the morning.
Rosehip oil works well to sooth even sensitive skin, mix a drop of tea tree essential oil or rosemary in in some rosehip oil  and apply on your skin before going to bed. (add just one drop in about 10 ml rosehip oil)

  • Always buy pure rosehip oil which is cold-pressed as cold pressed oils retain more nutrients.
  • Before using any kind of oil it is important to do a patch test to first see if you are allergic to it.
  • Natural treatments and remedies dont work overnight, you need a lot of patience and follow the routine regularly for atleast about a month for noticeable results.
  • Rosehip oil can help with acnes cars but it shouldnt be applied on active acne.
  • Store rosehip oil properly in a cool dark place or it may go rancid . It is a good idea to store it in a dark bottle inside your refrigerator.
  • Consult your doctor before using rosehip oil if you are pregnant or nursing mom because this oil has trans-retinoic acids. I find using small amount on my face very safe and Iam nurning my 1 year old.
